NEWS: Lefty Sean Manaea has a strained oblique and is doubtful for Opening Day. In addition, Mets utility infielder Nick Madrigal has a fractured left shoulder and will be out “a long time."

BHQ SPIN: Manaea, the Mets’ presumed ace, will be shut down anywhere from a week to three weeks. The Mets say they are not overly concerned, but time will tell. For now, we’ve dropped Manaea’s projected playing time one percent. Manaea’s absence, along with Frankie Montas’ injury, have increased the chances that Paul Blackburn and/or Griffin Canning will be in the Mets’ rotation when Opening Day rolls around. It also makes it very likely secures a spot for Tylor Megill.
