A tale of Roto500 auction calls in two cities

As we enter the final month of the season, it's a good time to review the impact of the new auction call rules of the initial Roto500 leagues in New York and Toronto. Ron covered the nuances of the new auction rule in his March article but as a quick recap, each owner was given three auction calls that they could use during the Roto500 snake draft to win auctions on any drafted player. This new Roto500 rule was designed to combine the efficiencies of a snake draft with the strategy and control of an auction format for the most important players claimed on draft/auction day. While each owner decided how and when to use their auction calls, the majority of calls were used by the end the third round (72% in New York and 89% in Toronto)....
