One of the most discussed ideas among fantasy baseball owners this time of year is the idea of buying low and selling high. Generally it is in the context of making trades. And, of course, the idea is that one owner will magically swindle the other because of his great abilities of persuasion and a huge gap in knowledge.

But, for the most part, in all but the weakest of leagues, the idea of buying low and selling high is mostly a myth. There are two reasons for this.
