KEEPERS: Seven AFL performances to ponder

Last week in this space, we offered up a prospect primer. This week we attempt to put some of those principles into practice, as we review some of the more interesting names, situations and performances offered up in the recently concluded Arizona Fall League (AFL).

While skills are obviously the most critical piece of any player evaluation, the intent here isn't to give you the detailed 411 in this regard. As noted at the end of our most recent piece, our crack minor league staff will begin that detailed team-by-team effort this week, running through January. And it's difficult if not impossible to read too much into small sample sizes that usually range between 60 and 100 AB—and are even more limited for pitchers.
