As we’ve noted in this space recently and at First Pitch Arizona this past week, the value of prospects will differ between various keeper league (KL) and dynasty formats. In leagues with limited keepers and player contracts, many owners use prospects as trade chips, to facilitate the boom-bust contend-rebuild mode that can cycle through every two years. Dynasty league owners with less stringent keeper and contract limits may take their prospect research more seriously, since their ongoing competitiveness from year to year may depend more on it.
