KEEPERS: To Keep or Not to Keep—AL pitchers 35-and-over

This week we begin our look at 35-and-over pitchers.  And once again, we'll try to sift through the 2012 performances and performance histories in an effort to determine the best risks and values looking ahead for 2013.  Obviously, carrying pitchers in this age bracket isn't an optimal choice for keeper league / dynasty owners seeking long-term roster stability, durability, limited risk, and the sweet spot age of 27-to-35.

But owners in deep/competitive leagues don't always have better options.  And particularly for those pitching-needy fantasy owners with the offense to compete now, sometimes weaknesses are best addressed with cost-effective short-term patches.  Accordingly, our filter searched for pitchers fitting the following...
