Hitting Tiers in Points Leagues

In points leagues, you need hitters who have power upside, durability, and guaranteed at-bats. The Mayberry Method proves useful in this format. We assume scoring of one point per total base, run scored, RBI, stolen base, and walk. As mentioned in our pitching article last week, Runs Above Replacement represents a key metric when analyzing draft tiers.
Catchers
This comes in play mostly with catchers. If you play in a 10-team one catcher league, you need no adjustment. But if you have two catchers and/or fifteen teams, you will need to add sixty to seventy points to the backstops.
