Longtime CDM Sports players Vlad Sedler and Pete Sheridan take a first look at the best options per salary and positon in the 2016 Diamond Challenge (DC). The Diamond Challenge is the oldest salary cap contest in fantasy sports, and has been paying out a $25,000 grand prize, as well as league and division prizes, for over 20 years. Team managers construct a lineup of 28 starters (18 hitters, 10 pitchers) under a $30,000 salary cap and carry 12 taxi (bench) players that can be swapped in weekly. Scoring is  standard 5x5 roto-style. With only 16 new player purchases (buys) on the season, team managers have to be shrewd and decisive on which players they should use them on, and when.
