ALTERNATIVE: 2015 Simulation draft analysis

Simulation leagues provide the same challenges as Rotisserie with a few major additions. First of all, these leagues look back to 2014 statistics so you have no projections, just maximization of actual performance. Also, fielding matters, which puts a premium on defense whether you play Strat-O-Matic, Diamond Mind, or APBA.

Simulation gamers draft rookies this time of year. It resembles the NFL or NBA rookie drafts except that you know how a player performed the previous year. If you have a contender, you normally want to trade many of your picks for current players who had a good 2014 season. Each year we analyze the draft pool to help simulation gamers succeed in their format. We assume a player needs fifty at-bats or thirty innings...
