WATCHLIST: Waiting for an opportunity and a call

The WatchList column is a quick-hit look at those minor league players who may be on the verge of a call-up, whether it be due to an injury on the big league club or sterling performance. Many of the players covered in the WatchList will not be top-level prospects, but instead players who could hold some short-term value in the right situation. Of course, there are lots of unknowns and variables when it comes to call-ups, and the WatchList can be purely speculative.
Ryan Brett (2B, TAM)
The Rays have been among the league's most disappointing teams, which is uncharacteristic for them. Though not the root reason for their struggles, they rank 27th in the majors in stolen bases. With Ben Zobrist and Logan Forsythe not exactly lighting...
