WATCHLIST: Promoting from within

The WatchList column is a quick-hit look at those minor league players that may be on the verge of a call-up, whether it be due to an injury on the big league club or sterling performance. Many of the players covered in the WatchList will not be top-level prospects, but instead players that could hold some short-term value in the right situation. Of course, there are lots of unknowns and variables when it comes to call-ups and the WatchList can be purely speculative.
Christian Bergman (RHP, COL)
The 25-year-old was the High-A California League Pitcher of the Year in '12 and has continued his stellar performances with a consistent '13 campaign in Double-A. For the season, Bergman is 5-7 with a 3.36 ERA, 1.2 Ctl, and 6.1 Dom in 20 starts...
