Pitching matchup: RHP Brad Peacock (3-8, 5.47 ERA) vs. RHP Carlos Carrasco (5-4, 3.27 ERA)
Setup and context: First game of a weekend series. Peacock had been struggling—21 ER in his past four starts (18 IP)—and there were whispers that he could be removed from the rotation with a poor outing. Houston entered the game at 55-74. Cleveland, on the other hand, were 64-63, still in the thick of the playoff chase, and this was the third start for Carrasco after spending a significant time in the bullpen.
