It's hard to resist, I know. It's hard not to speculate. Despite all the flashing red lights and warning sirens, it's tough not to notice that Omar Infante already has a bunch of home runs and Barry Zito hurled a shut-out... in Colorado. It must mean something, right?
Yes, we all know about small sample sizes and all that. But when a player has a breakout, it has to start somewhere. It has to start with a small sample size of amazing performance. Why not now? And given that most leagues require you to act quickly to grab these surging players, there is often not a second chance to jump.
