Our First Pitch Forum series completed its 2012 run a few weeks ago. At the end of each event, we have an open Q&A session. This is the opportunity for attendees to get their own questions answered. This year's program ran a bit long and we had to cut back on the Q&As, so I thought I'd devote one edition of Master Notes to some questions we passed on that were submitted in advance.
First, a standard one... Do you pick a pitcher in the first round? I don't, mostly because I believe it is important to accumulate counting stats in the first few rounds. Batters provide more of those.
But some people do draft pitching early. I suppose the thought process is that at least a few pitchers will finish the season with first-round caliber...
