DR HQ: Royals lose Ventura, Pads to be without Myers for extended time

Yordano Ventura (RHP, KC)
Injury: Nerve irritation and loss of feeling in his pitching hand.
DL date: June 13
Estimated DL time: Pressure on the ulnar nerve in his pitching elbow is causing the pain and loss of feeling in his hand. He’s out indefinitely until more information regarding the nerve issue is revealed. The worst-case scenario is Ventura needs surgery to move the nerve (and release the pressure) though there isn’t any indication it is needed at the moment.

Wil Myers (OF, SD)
Injury: Surgery to remove a bone spur in his left wrist.
DL date: June 14
Estimated DL time: The Padres project he’ll miss roughly eight weeks. His left wrist is his bottom hand when batting, therefore, his offensive production may suffer early in his return.

Martin Prado (3B, MIA)
Injury: Right shoulder pain
DL date: June 15
Estimated DL time: Prado suffered the injury last weekend when he fell on the shoulder. He’s already received a cortisone injection, and it appears he needs roughly three weeks recovery before he returns to the lineup.

Zac Rosscup (LHP, CHN)
Injury: Inflammation in pitching shoulder
DL date: June 17
Estimated DL time: While this doesn’t look to be a minimum DL stint, the Cubs believe he’ll be back in less than a month. The MRI on the shoulder ruled out any structural damage.

Corey Dickerson (OF, COL)
Injury: Plantar fasciitis - left foot
DL date: June 18
Estimated DL time: He’s back on the DL again with the same problem as a previous stint.  Dickerson isn’t going to be able to overcome this ailment until after the season, possibly with surgery. He’ll be back—but the question is for how long.

Chris Hatcher (RHP, LA)
Injury: Strained left oblique
DL date: June 15
Estimated DL time: The current estimate is he’ll need 21-25 days to recover before he’s ready for activation.

Jerome Williams (RHP, PHI)
Injury: Strained left hamstring
DL date: June 17
Estimated DL time: Williams suffered the injury in his latest start. All the information available points to a grade one strain and a 15-18 day DL stint.

Brooks Brown (RHP, COL)
Injury: Inflammation – right shoulder
DL date: June 17
Estimated DL time: This is his second trip to the DL for the same ailment this season. He is out indefinitely until the medical staff reveals more of his treatment and rehab information.

Ender Inciarte (OF, ARI)
Injury: Strained right hamstring – grade 1
DL date: June 16
Estimated DL time: While it is possible he could return in 15 days, it appears as though Inciarte will need closer to three weeks before returning to the Diamondbacks.

Jon Moscot (RHP, CIN)
Injury: Dislocated non-pitching shoulder
DL date: June 16
Estimated DL time: Moscot will have surgery on his left shoulder, and it could well be a season-ending injury.

Tony Cingrani (LHP, CIN)
Injury: Inflammation – left shoulder
DL date: June 14
Estimated DL time: Last year, Cingrani battled tendinitis and missed a good portion of the season. Though structural damage to his shoulder reportedly has been ruled out with this new injury, the Reds must be concerned about more pitching shoulder problems. He’s out indefinitely at the moment.

Aaron Hicks (OF, MIN)
Injury: Strained right forearm
DL date: June 13
Estimated DL time: The Twins believe that discomfort is minor enough that Hicks will return in 15-18 days.

Delino DeShields (OF, TEX)
Injury: Strained left hamstring – grade 1+
DL date: June 15
Estimated DL time: His injury is serious enough that he’ll need at least three weeks before the strain has healed properly. Once DeShields returns, he should be able to resume his level of stolen base attempts.

Aaron Sanchez (RHP, TOR)
Injury: Strained lower lat muscle – grade 1++
DL date: Retro to June 6
Estimated DL time: This doesn’t look serious enough to cost him a significant amount of time. The typical recovery time is 24 – 28 days.
