FPAZ24 CC: Carpool Information
It's been a longstanding First Pitch Arizona tradition to have attendees find rides to and from the ballgames from within the gathered community. It has always worked, but this year we're trying out a new format by way of the online groupcarpool site. The site requires no registration, is mobile friendly, and seems like it could fit our needs well. Here's a quick summary:
We've created five “trips” for the weekend — starting from and returning to the host hotel. A couple of these include two games in one trip; in both cases the second game is at the other end of the Valley. Because of this, we have scheduled programming at the hotel at the same time of the game. It's of course up to you whether you go to the game, or come back for the sessions. If you are making one of these trips and have space for more than 1 person in your vehicle, click on the link. Once you’re on the trip page, there’s a blue “add car” button. Fill out the required info (use Mesa as the city), but also Departing Time, and in the Notes, put where to meet to leave (probably the hotel lobby), along with anything else that’s pertinent. (It’s up to you whether you want to put your phone# in there; as a driver you’ll get email notifications as folks sign up).
We can put as many cars as we want under that one “trip”. Then sometime before you leave, check in and see how many people have signed up, etc.
Conversely, if you need a ride for any of these trips, click the appropriate link and use a green “join” button and fill out a similar form. Then show up at the appropriate time/meeting spot.
Let us know how this works during the weekend — we could also add Sunday trip to the airport if this meets our needs.
