[FREE] Lyle Overbay (1B, ARI) is on his third tour of duty in Arizona, where he broke into the big leagues a decade ago as the Diamondbacks first baseman of the future. Now 35, he's in a time share with Arizona's current first baseman of the future, Paul Goldschmidt (1B, ARI), and gaining more at-bats thanks to a hot start. Is Overbay still worth fanalytic consideration?

After piling up a 9-17 record with a 5.05 ERA last year, it’s not surprising that Derek Lowe (RHP, CLE) was traded during the off-season. Now in the last year of a four-year, $60M contract, Lowe has gotten off to a scorching start for the Indians.

Though nearly all the pre-season Mets talk included some form of the word "doomsday," David Wright (3B, NYM) has kept the team respectable as the season's first month draws to a close. Last spring, the words most commonly associated with Matt Wieters (C, BAL) were "disappointment" and "overrated." All Wieters did was answer his critics by putting together a stellar second half and he's come charging out of the gate in 2012 as well. Is it time to call him a star?

Expectations were high for Jose Tabata (OF, PIT) in 2010 and the highly touted rookie didn't disappoint, hitting .299 with 19 steals in 405 ABs. A string of injuries stifled his production in 2011. But Tabata is healthy again, and fanalytic owners are looking to the 23-year-old to regain his form.

In spring training, it looked like Nolan Reimold (OF, BAL) would be platooned with Endy Chavez (OF, BAL). While neck spasms have cost him a few games, a hot start has allowed Reimold to stay in the leadoff spot and see most of the playing time in left field.
